Shane Battier will be among those competing in the celebrity American Century Championship in Lake Tahoe next weekend. He’ll be out there with Michael Jordan, Aaron Rodgers, Jason Kidd, Tony Romo and John Elway, among others. (Ray Allen was on the original player list, but he suddenly has other matters to attend to.)
Battier does not boast of his golfing prowess, but he’ll still try to raise some money for his Battier Take Charge Foundation, which provides scholarships for kids. Last season, he made eight pars, which raised $35,000, according to his website.

The tournament will be broadcast on NBC.
